I am one of the maintainers for the free modeling software ASPECT (Advanced Solver for Problems in Earth’s Convection). ASPECT combines modern software development techniques to allow for more sophisticated and better tested geodynamic modelling studies.

As consequence of my work on ASPECT I contribute to the finite-element library deal.II whenever contributions to ASPECT are of use to a bigger and more diverse community.

I am consulting the Computational Infrastructure for Geodynamics on software management, testing, and best practices for software development.

As part of my BSSW fellowship (Better Scientific Software), I develop a series of guides for maintainers of scientific community software, called BSSC (Better Scientific Software Communities).
